Pleading His Case

I was on the grounds of the Parthenon in Athens, Greece. it was hot and I was taking a bit of a sit down mostly enjoying the view and people watching. As I am sure it is often, it was quite crowded. This kid managed to capture my attention when he started throwing a killer tantrum. It went on for some time but finally the father was able to eventually calm him down.

What got me was that the Mother was screaming and shaking the kid, and the more she did that the more he made a scene. She eventually got fed up and the father calmly went over, knelt down and spoke to the kid. I'd love to know what was said because within a few seconds the kid calmed down and the father picked him up. The boy then stroked the back of the fathers head while he was obviously "pleading his case". It struck me as a very loving moment and I was happy to be there to capture it in such a beautiful place.
